The Queens Birthday Honours List 2021 – Bro Tony Clark
Bro Tony Clark, our Inner Guard at St Cuthbert’s Lodge 630 has been awarded The Queen’s Fire Service Medal (QFSM) in this years Queen’s Birthday Honours 2021.
As you may know Tony is the Health & Safety Manager at Howdens Joinery in Howden, he is also the Watch Manager at Howden Fire Station and has been the link for a growing partnership between both organisations, in that in his role as an on call firefighter the employer benefits by having staff trained in First aid, which in turn leads to effective and efficient teamworking.
As a consequence of the Coronavirus pandemic, a sub group of the Humber Local Resilience Forum was established with the remit of managing and handling all the personal protective equipment for the Humber region, using his own initiative to manage the vast amount of PPE coming in to the region, Tony found suitable locations around the area to temporary store this equipment prior to onward delivery to its destination. By May 2021, Tony and his team at Howden Fire station have managed to deliver over 3,000,000 items of PPE and medical supplies around the Humber region.
On behalf of our Worshipful Master W Bro Brian Gould, we will take this opportunity to congratulate Tony on the work he and his team have done towards ending this pandemic.
